In Firebird, deleting records from a table is performed through the DELETE command, as in other DBMS. Using the following syntax you can delete all records from a table quickly.

DELETE FROM [Table]

As practical example we will delete all records from a table of products.

DELETE FROM product

With the above command, products of table will have all their records deleted, but this situation is not very common in development environments. In many cases it is necessary to delete only a single record, and because of this the use of the conditional WHERE becomes essential, as the following example shows:

DELETE FROM product

WHERE cod_prod = 1

With the above command only product that has the code 1 will be deleted in exclusion screens this type of structure is widely used as one should not exclude records that are correct in the database.
