Sybase how you update a record in a table is the same used in other DBMS using PLSQL language.

UPDATE [Table]

SET [Column] = [Value]

In the above syntax, we are showing the general way to update a table where all records are updated with same value passed in command. As these cases are very rare to happen WHERE clause ends up being an indispensable part of the syntax also, as the following example shows.

UPDATE Product

SET Price = 1000

UPDATE Product

SET Price = 1000

WHERE cod_Prod = 1

In the first example all rows of the table will be updated with the value of 1000, in the second example only product that has the code 1 will be updated. In development environments, the second example is undoubtedly one of the most used and is part of the daily routine of any developer.

Sybase is a great option in the database as it has all the quality of SAP Company so more and more web development companies have been using it. Learn more about this on our official page about Sybase in PHP projects.
