When you finish a web application project, tests are essential to know if application really what it claims to do, do it correctly. Tests are mainly used to detect errors in implementation, but also are used to analyze the behavior of the application in certain situations.

The stress test is based on exhausting the resources of the application to identify the behavior of this application in situations of full load. In a practical example, the stress test may comprise a large load of records in the database from the application to identify the behavior of this application to generate reports or working with routines that handle large amounts of data from one table to another.

With stress testing you can identify slow points and even failure in the application due to lack of optimization points as:

  • Procedures;
  • Transactions;
  • Cursors;
  • Queries (Queries);
  • Modeling data from the database.

These are some of the examples, because the stress testing can also identify weak points or slowdowns related to server hardware, sometimes the application might require a server much higher than expected and this situation may be identified in this type of test. In such cases the test focuses on the application of simultaneous accesses simulating multiple users using the same resource at the same time.

The stress testing is critical to application delivery so be sure to carry it well and make delivery of the project with much higher quality.
