Although it is one of the more basics inside the HTML, the link structure still gives some doubts in some developers, even in the experts. Thinking on it, today we’ll dismember the mainly elements that compose it and then take out possible doubts that you may have.

As you can see in the image above, a link is made by thousands of attributes written inside and between the <a> tag.

The HREF attribute will indicate which page the user will be redirected when click in the link. The TARGET attribute indicates if that page will be open in the same browser window or in a new one. For this to happen all you have to do is indicate the “_blank” value on the attribute.

When you pass the mouse in the link, a  little description can be performed. This description is the TITLE attribute and you can insert the information that you wish on this attribute.

Has you can see in the image, most of the attributes are inserted on the first part of the <a> tag, but realize that exist another information that lays between the opening tag and the ending tag. This information is called ANCHOR-TEXT. This information will be renderized in a link form, giving this way a aspect known as a HTML link. Is important to point out that this attribute is used in services like SEO to optimize the sites on research mechanisms.
